祈話（四）：I Just Called To say I Love You

對很多香港人來說，I Love You這三個字看似很難說出口。可是，我個人又不覺得有何難度？我深信，只要你真的深愛著某人，不論你是男是女，你也會十分希望向對方說出自己的感受，不是嗎？

I Just Called To say I Love You是由Stevie Wonder所唱的，榮獲第57屆奧斯卡最佳原創歌曲。在2012年，曹格以Jazz的形式將之翻唱。

這是一首示愛的歌：當發覺到所愛的人不在自己身邊，便覺得生活苦悶無聊，每一天也是平淡的一天。終於，歌唱者鼓起勇氣，致電打所愛的人，說出心中的感受，說出那三個一定要說出口的字。歌詞中的生字不多，以簡單直接的方式說出作詞人心中的感受：

1. Bloom：開花的意思
2. Summer's high：即high summer，盛夏的意思
3. Even time：時間還未到的意思
4. Libra sun：字面意思為天秤座的太陽；而天秤座是23/9－23/10，所以意指為十月的太陽。
5. Though old so new：雖舊猶新的意思

這首歌有趣的地方在於，作詞人在填詞時十分心思地交待他在整年間的心情。他不是單單寫一月、二月等，而是用其他文字交待已到了某個月份，例如：

1. New Year's Day＝一月（新年）
2. chocolate covered candy hearts＝二月（情人節）
3. first of spring＝三月（春天開始）
4. April rain＝四月
5. flowers bloom＝五月（花經過四月的雨水洗禮後便在五月開花）
6. wedding Saturday within the month of June＝六月

8. August night＝八月
9. autumn breeze＝九月（秋天開始）
10. Libra sun＝十月（天秤座的太陽）
11. Halloween＝十一月（正確來說，萬聖節是在11月1日的）
12. Christmas ＝十二月（聖誕節）

經過一整年的思念，當然要打電話和愛人說I Love You了！但為何過了這麼久才打電話呢？是天各一方、各有各忙？是所愛的人不愛自己？還是別的原因？

不論如何，這也是一首很好聽的歌！
